Mackintosh, Sir James, created D.C.L. 26 June, 1816 (son of Captain John Mackintosh, of Kellachie), D.Med. Edinburgh 1787, M.P. Nairnshire 1813-18, and Knaresborough 1818-32, bar.-at-law, Lincoln's Inn, 1795, recorder of Bombay 1803, and knighted 21 Dec., 1803, professor of general polity and the laws in the East India College at Haileybury 1818-27, privy councillor 1827, and a commissioner for Indian affairs 1830, died 30 May, 1832.
