Zulp, masculine, ‘sucking mark (on the skin), spot made by sucking,’ Modern High German only; allied to zullen, ‘to suck’; origin obscure. Probably related to Dutch tul, ‘bottle, tippler,’ tullen, ‘to tipple.’
