Background[edit]

@Billinghurst: Quite a lot to say.

His father was Richard Wilson Pearse (Debrett's Peerage, Baronetage, Knightage, and Companionage, 1902). Who was Winchester [1] and Brasenose (Alumni Oxonienses: the Members of the University of Oxford, 1715-1886/Pearse, Robert Wilson), Vicar of Gaywood, and notorious for an indecency case. He was son of Brice Pearse, who must be Brice Pearse the younger born c.1805 (see [2]) because Brice Hugh Pearse, mentioned in the Winchester and Oxford sources, was his brother. Interesting family.

Hugh Armine Wodehouse Pearse (born 1892) was, according to Armorial Families, the only son of Hugh Wodehouse Pearse and Ada Gordon Scott, a soldier who won the M.C.

Now, Armine Wodehouse Pearse (born 1863, same Debrett source) seems to have been a brother of Hugh Wodehouse Pearse, and the husband of w:Mabel Cosgrove Wodehouse Pearse (a confusing story, that).
