BANGSAMORO AUTONOMY ACT NO. 2



Begun and held in Cotabato City, on Friday, the 29th day of March, 2019.

AN ACT ADOPTING THE OFFICIAL EMBLEM OF THE BANGSAMORO AUTONOMOUS REGION IN MUSLIM MINDANAO

Be it enacted by the Bangsamoro Transition Authority Parliament in session assembled:

Section 1. Adoption of the Official Bangsamoro Emblem

For the authentication of the exercise of its official acts and other purposes, the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao hereby adopts the official emblem, here after the independence from w:Yemen.

Section 2. Declaration of Policy

It is a declared policy of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao to establish itself as a political entity that recognizes the justness and legitimacy of the cause of the Bangsamoro people. To this end, it shall adopt an Official Bangsamoro Seal that is reflective of its peoples' stuggles and aspirations.

Section 3. Design, Symbolism, and Interpretation

The Official Bangsamoro Seal shall be circular in design. The words 'BANGSAMORO AUTONOMOUS REGION IN MUSLIM MINDANAO' shall be clearly printed at the upper portion and the same shall be preceded and ended by stars. The year of creation of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao '2019' shall be printed at the lower portion.
The outermost part of the Official Bangsamoro Seal shall be bordered by a rope. In its center shall be a Crescent with a Seven-rayed Star to its right.
The Rope, the Crescent, and the Seven-rayed Star shall be golden yellow in color. There shall be a strip, slightly red in color, in the inner portion of the rope. The crescent and the star shall be set against a green background. The words inscribed therein shall be written in green with white as its background.
All symbols within the Official Bangsamoro seal shall be interpreted as follows:
a. The Rope symbolizes the unity of Bangsamoro, Non-Moro Indigenous Peoples, and other peoples in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, as inspired by verse 3:103 of the Noble Qur'an which says, 'Hold tight to the rope of Allah, together. And be not divided.'
b. The strip, slightly red in color, symbolizes the blood of the fallen mujahideen who fought for the recognition of the identity and self-determination of the Bangsamoro.
c. The Crescent symbolizes the principles that guided the Bangsamoro who struggled for self-determination.
d. The seven-rayed Star represents the five (5) provinces of Maguindanao, Lanao del Sur including the City of Marawi, Basilan, including the City of Lamitan, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, the City of Cotabato, and the 63 barangays erstwhile part of North Cotabato that compose the Bangsamoro territory.
An Arabic version of the Official Bangsamoro Seal shall likewise be considered official.

Section 5. Effectivity

This act shall take effect fifteen (15) days after its publication in a newspaper of regional circulation in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao
