Executive Order 1397

It is hereby ordered that the Military Reservation at Fort Grant, Arizona, as declared by Executive Order of April 17, 1876, except that portion of the said reservation included in the Mount Graham Forest Reserve (now the Crook National Forest Reserve) by Executive Order of October 6, 1906 (G. O. 177, War Department, October 17, 1906), having become useless for military purposes, be and the same is hereby placed under the control of the Secretary of the Interior under the provisions of the Act of Congress approved July 5, 1884 (23 Stat. L., 103), for disposition under said Act or as may be otherwise provided by law.

The portion included in the said Forest Reserve by said Executive Order of October 6, 1906 shall be held in reservation and administered as forest reserve lands, being no longer subject to the limitations, respecting military use, prescribed in said Executive Order.
