My dear Lord Lothian:

Thank you for your letter of July 9th in which you were good enough to inform me of the appointment of the Duke of Windsor as Governor of the Bahamas. Will you express my appreciation to the Prime Minister for his thoughtfulness in desiring me to have advance information in this matter.

Very sincerely yours,

His Excellency
The Right Honorable
The Marquess of Lothian, C.H.,
British Ambassador.
