@Giantflightlessbirds This isn't a big deal since the page headers won't be transcluded, but it looks more like all-small-caps to me. (The difference is that with all-small-caps, the numbers are their normal size.) In any case, I've added {{rvh|{{{PAGENUM}}}|{{asc|CHAPTER.}}}} to the header field in the index, so it will be automatically added when a new page is created. —CalendulaAsteraceae (talkcontribs) 00:33, 12 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Formatting of vocab tables[edit]

Each chapter concludes with a tabulated list of words, marked ′ to show emphasis (not the same as curlys) + list of words and their meanings. I sought help from Beeswaxcandle whose suggested formatting is on page 4, which I will replicate on following pages. See discussion on his Talk page. I updated the formatting for these lists to use the {{div col}} formatting template. For the word pronunciation lists, I set it at 4 columns, for the words with definitions I set it at 1 column (this could be changed to 2, to match the printed book).
Rationale:
  • It makes the lists more readable for different screen sizes, even if they don't exactly match the print edition (to simulate, change the width of your browser window)
  • Pronunciation lists: the number of columns automatically reduces from 4 columns (for wider screens) to 1 column (for very narrow screens, such as phones)
  • Definition lists: 1 column displays nicely, and matches what was initially done for page 4 (I could make it 2 columns)
I'll see what it looks like when the work is finished - if there are any unexpected issues I'll fix the pages up. David Nind (talk) 03:58, 28 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Issues transcluding sections[edit]

For some reason the previous and next section links are not working as expected, and I'm not sure why.

Sections to look at:

  • OK - The Flower of Lanai⁠: the previous and next section links work as expected
  • NOT OK - The Pet Whale⁠: the previous section (The Flower of Lanai) is red linked, even though the page exists
  • OK - The Magic Spear-Point⁠: the link to the next section (The Spirit of the Cave) works as expected
  • NOT OK - The Spirit of the Cave⁠: the link to previous section (The Magic Spear-Point) is red linked, even though the page exists

I looked at the source for the contents page , and I couldn't see any issues.
