Dashes[edit]
Throughout the work there is extensive use of dashes. These vary considerably in length in order to manage the layout of the text (e.g. to produce justified text without the need for hyphenation, etc.). As part of validation, I have sought to normalise these dashes as follows. For a dash between sentences, or in the general text, use the em-dash (—), and where names have been omitted use {{longdash}}. It is usually clear from the text which applies. I believe I have caught all of the variations in Volume 4, but there may be a few stray ones. Chrisguise (talk) 12:34, 3 April 2022 (UTC)
