Editing Conventions for this volume[edit]

For consistency with the way that Volume 1 has been proofread and validated:

  • Delete automatic linebreaks other than at the end of paragraphs;
  • Leave quotes at normal-size text and offset with blockquote tags;
  • Hang punctuation at the beginning of poems using {{fqm}};
  • Block center poems and don't use poem tags;
  • Indent poem lines with {{gap}};
  • Set footnotes with {{smallrefs}};
  • Remove references tags or {{smallrefs}} from pages that have no footnotes;
  • When a footnote refers to another chapter in this work use relative links. See Page:The Mediaeval Mind Vol 1.djvu/93 for an example;
  • Link works the first time that are mentioned in the text or footnotes, even if they will be red. If possible, link to chapters (sub-pages);
  • Link authors the first time they are mentioned in a chapter;
  • If footnotes are split across pages, then use named references as detailed on Help:Footnotes and endnotes#Footnotes that continue over page breaks
