@ShakespeareFan00: This text looks in good shape, just missing two pages. Is there any reason it can't be transcluded, with a note that the two pages are currently missing? Outlier59 (talk) 15:33, 15 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Well I patched the 'text' in, it's just the text for the missing pages aren't scan backed.ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 20:28, 15 May 2016 (UTC)Reply
Where did you get the text? Outlier59 (talk) 21:06, 15 May 2016 (UTC)Reply
Never mind, I found it. Outlier59 (talk) 21:56, 15 May 2016 (UTC)Reply
I asked at "Rebinding" if this can be fixed. Outlier59 (talk) 22:40, 15 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

@ShakespeareFan00: Mpaa fixed the pages. :) Any special guidelines for validation? Outlier59 (talk) 20:12, 16 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Nope, I don;t think I did anything "clever" on this work. ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 20:15, 16 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Mainspace[edit]

@ShakespeareFan00: I put this in Mainspace pretty much according to the Contents page. I'll keep working on the validation bit by bit -- I haven't come across anything major, just little scannos or a bit of formatting. I wonder if the Statutes, Glossary and Index sections should have little TOCs at the top of the sections. And maybe the Statutes should be more than one section? What do you think about these things? I could add anchors while validating.

Also, the main page needs categories and a portal. I wasn't sure so left blank for now. Outlier59 (talk) 23:45, 16 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Ideally the Statutes could be one 'subpage' per Statute, as has been done with other 'legislative' works. ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 23:47, 16 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

I'll see if I can figure that out. Meanwhile, I'll validate. :) Outlier59 (talk) 00:14, 17 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Acts of Parliament/Statutes[edit]

@ShakespeareFan00: Statute texts such as compiled in The statutes of the realm [1101-1713]: printed by command of his majesty King George the Third; in pursuance of an address of the House of Commons of Great Britain; from original records and authentic manuscripts (1810) Internet Archive identifier: pp63095168 are written in legalese, not plain text. I'd hesitate to claim this book contains complete verbatim statutes. The title page of The Statutes of Wales says these statutes are "collected, edited and arranged". Hard to tell how much editing has been done without checking against the original statutes. Most of Portal:Acts_of_the_Parliament_of_England seems to be missing or unsourced. That's a very large project.

For now I'll simply validate this text. Do you want me to request The_Statutes_of_Wales_(1908)/The_Statutes_of_Wales be deleted from Mainspace for now? I only just added it, so deleting shouldn't be a problem. Outlier59 (talk) 16:27, 17 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Nope it Looks good, Thanks :) ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 16:28, 17 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

INDEX[edit]

@ShakespeareFan00: Please check Page:The statutes of Wales (1908).djvu/423. You formatted the book index as a poem. Maybe you might want to look at that again? Outlier59 (talk) 01:49, 23 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

If you think a different approach like plainlist would work better, implement it :) ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 09:13, 23 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Statutes section[edit]

@ShakespeareFan00: Please take a look at Page:The statutes of Wales (1908).djvu/133. The right-justified A.D. looks like small caps to me. And I think that line might center better using {{running header|(date)|bold centered heading}}. What do you think? Outlier59 (talk) 01:49, 23 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

{{smaller}} for the date, and if you think a runnigheader style works better, feel free. ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 09:05, 23 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

@ShakespeareFan00: Check Page:The statutes of Wales (1908).djvu/133 and Page:The statutes of Wales (1908).djvu/134 for formatting. That running header doesn't seem to be centering quite right in the body. Does it look off-center to you? Outlier59 (talk) 23:29, 24 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Slightly, Not sure why. ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 11:45, 25 May 2016 (UTC)Reply
I reverted that running header in the body of Page:The statutes of Wales (1908).djvu/134. It didn't fix the centering. For now I'll just make the dates smaller while verifying. Outlier59 (talk) 17:14, 28 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

@ShakespeareFan00: Take a look at Page:The statutes of Wales (1908).djvu/135. There's a noticeable space above the italicized heading. I usually add a {{dhr}} when I see that. It tends to visually clarify the start of a new topic. It's fine as is, but I thought I'd offer to add the {{dhr}} while I'm validating. Your decision. :) Outlier59 (talk) 01:13, 1 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Agreed ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 08:36, 1 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

@ShakespeareFan00: I found out from User:AuFCL that the running header template isn't working exactly as it should right now, but it is intended to display left-center-right text for a line on a page. There are ways to get around the imperfect template, but they make editing the page complicated. To keep things simple here, I'll put the running header where it should work. That way when they fix the template, everything should look fine. And I'll add the {{dhr}} spacing. OK? Outlier59 (talk) 13:52, 1 June 2016 (UTC)Reply
