Hum., Craven scholar 1874, from City of London School, lecturer on common law to Incorporated Law Society 1884, a student of Lincoln's Inn 7 Nov., 1872, called to the bar 28 June, 1876 (2nd son of Joseph Dixon Asquith, late of Mirfield, Yorkshire, merchant, dec.); born 12 Sept., 1852; married 23 Aug., 1877, Helen Kelsall, eldest dau. of Frederick Melland, Esq., of Rusholme, Manchester.
