Birley, William Hornby, M.A. Balliol Coll., Oxon, a member of the Northern circuit, practises in the Lancaster Chancery Court, author of Parliamentary Elections Act 1868, a student of Lincoln's Inn 4 March, 1856 (then aged 21), called to the bar 26 Jan., 1860 (4th son of Hugh Hornby Birley, Esq., of Manchester); born 22 Dec., 1834; married 14 Aug., 1861, Mary Louisa, dau. of Richard Yapp, Esq., of Cradley, Hereford, and has issue.
