Bodley, John Edward Courtenay, M.A. Balliol Coll., Oxon, private secretary since 1880 to Rt. Hon. Sir C. W. Dilke, Bart., M.P. (president Local Government Board), secretary to royal commission on housing of working classes 1884-5, a member of the Oxford circuit, author of Souchester Sessions, etc., a student of the Inner Temple 17 Nov., 1871 (then aged 18), called to the bar 6 June, 1874 (2nd surviving son of Edward Fisher Bodley, Esq., late of Dane Bank House, Congleton, dec.); born 6 June, 1853.
