Cotton, James Sutherland, M.A. (scholar) Trin, Coll., Oxon, fellow and lecturer Queen's Coll., Oxon, lecturer to Bradford Law Students' Society Dec, 1879, went the Western circuit, editor of The Academy since 1881, educated at Magdalen Coll. School, Brighton Coll., and Winchester Coll., a student of Lincoln's Inn 26 Jan., 1870 (then aged 22), called to the bar 26 Jan., 1874 (3rd son of Joseph John Cotton, Esq., of Clifton, co. Gloucester, late E.I.C.S.); born 17 July, 1847; married 19 April, 1873, Isabella, 4th dau. of John Carter, Esq., of Clifton, Bristol, and has issue.
