And He Appeared to Me, the One Who Is the Lord
1 The Lord is my hope,
in whom I will not be ashamed.
2 For by his glory he made me,
and by his goodness he gave to me,
3 and by his love he lifted me up,
and by his majestic beauty he exalted me.
4 And he caused me to ascend out of the depths of Sheol,
and from the mouth of Death he drew me.
5 And I laid low my enemies,
and he vindicated me in his steadfast love,
6 for I trusted in the Lord’s anointed.
And he appeared to me, the one who is the Lord,
7 and showed him his sign,
and led me by his light,
8 and gave me the rod of his power,
that I might subdue the peoples’ schemes,
and lay low the greatness of the powerful,
9 to wage war by his speech,
and to seize the victory by his power.
10 And the Lord cast down my enemy by his speech,
and he became like the chaff that the wind carries away.
11 And I gave praise to the Most High,
because he magnified his servant,
even the son of his handmaid.
Hallelujah!
