Section1.This Act shall be called the "Criminal Procedure Code Promulgation Act, 2477 Buddhist Era".

Section2.This Act shall come into force from the day of its publication in the Royal Gazette onwards.

Section3.The Criminal Procedure Code enacted at the end of this Act shall come into force from the 1st day of October 2478 Buddhist Era onwards.

All the courts and officers handling criminal prosecutions throughout the Kingdom, save the courts separately governed by special procedure, shall observe the provisions of this Code.

All the cases pending in court since before the day of coming into force of this Code shall be governed by the laws in force before the day of coming into force of this Code until those cases reach their finality.

Section4.Subject to the provisions of section 3, from the day of coming into force of this Criminal Procedure Code onwards, sections 14, 16, and sections 87 through 86 of the Penal Code, the Act on Criminal Procedure for
