ויניא, ווינייה (והונ׳) m. pl. denom. of וי or וה) woe-makers, a word coined in opposition to הוללים (merry-makers), and defined by אללי as a play on הולל־. Pesik. Ahare, p. 170a וכ׳ אללי שביאין אלו נייה ווי להון קרי (Ar. זהיינא, corr. acc.) called them (the hol'lim, Ps. LXXV, 5) vayyanaya, those who bring al'lay (woe) &c.; Lev.
