סק m. (preced.) 1) split, slit. Bekh. 37b שהוא כל הס׳ a slit in the ear disqualifies, even if it be of the minutest size. Koh. R.to I, 8פתח של סידקו כמבין like looking through the crack of a door; a. e. -- Pl. סדקים, סדקון. Pes. 8a לחורין ולס׳ into holes and fissures. Ib. III, 5 (48b) שנתערבו סיווק וכ׳ סדקיו (Bab. ed. סדקין) dough is called sidduk, when its cracks run into one another. Ib. 488b סדק כל לך אין וכ׳ ס׳ כמה . וסדק for every crack on the surface there are several inside. Ib. סדקי, סדקית, v. sub סיד׳.
סדר (Saf. of דור) to arrange, order (corresp. to b. h. ערר). Pes. 54a הכוס על סודרן he pronounces them (the benedictions) in successive order over the cup. Yoma. 45b top המזבח ע'ג שסודרן that he must place them in order on the altar; וסודרן . . . הכבש על שסודרן that he must arrange them on the bridge or on the rim of the altar, until a large pile (of wood) is formed, when he must put them in order (on the altar); Tam. II, I; a. fr. -- Part. pass. סדור; f. סדורה &c. Taan. 8a שאינה משנתו בשביל עליו ס׳ it is because his learning is not properly system- atised in his mind. Ber. 57a לו ׳p עונותיו his sins are arranged before him; לימחל סס ס מאי what does this mean ?? It means that they are arranged (ready) to be forgiven; Yoma 88a. B. Bath. 69a לגדר הס׳ אבנים stones arranged for erecting a fence, contrad. to צבורות piled up (v. סור); a. fr. Pi. סידר 1) ame Tam. II, 3 המערכה אש לסקר to arrange the pyre, v. מערכה. Num. סדר m. (b. h. סדרים pl.; סדר) row, pile, arrangement, order, succession. Num. R. s. 4 וכ׳ זה לס׳ חלות ו׳ six cakes in one pile and six in the other. Yoma V, 7 האמור . כל וכ׳ הס׳ על as to all the acts for the Day of Atonement here told in their consecutive order, if he advanced (changed the order) &c.
