שיפוט, שפ׳ m. (שפט, v. שפטא) childishness, folly, vanity. Koh. R. to I 15 (expl. רע ענין, ib.) של שיפוטו זה ממון this is the folly of greed for wealth (because it is never satisfied); גזל של שיפוטו זה this is the folly of rob- bery (because it is the foremost among the accnsers of man before the throne of God); ib. תורה של שיפוטה זה וכ׳ this is the vanity of study, because one learns and forgets again. -- Pl. שיפוטים, ש׳ (e faca) boyish things, sport, (euphem. for) sodomy. Ib. middle וכ׳ כוסמין מין הש׳ . . כרבנן ברם but in the opinion of the Rabbis there are only three kinds of grain, shifon is a species of spelt &c. Kil.
