Bound in white vellum with gold lettering on the cover and spine; gilt top. 231 numbered pages, 7¾×10¼. Twelve full-page illustrations in colour and twenty-two drawings in black and white, also pictorial end-papers in gray and white. This edition is limited to 575 copies for England and 200 copies for the United States, all copies signed by the artist.

There is a trade edition bound in dark blue cloth with pictorial stamping in gold on the cover and spine and gold lettering. Size of page, 7½×9⅞. This edition has the same number of illustrations and the same end-papers as the limited edition. There is also a binding in Persian Morocco.

American Edition: This edition is the same as the English trade edition and is published by David McKay Co., Philadelphia. The limited edition has the same binding as the English limited edition and is the same, except that the publisher’s name on the title page and on the spine is changed.
