The vij yowre hawke colyeth and not beckyth The viij. ſhe rowſith and not ſhakith heꝛ ſelfe The ix. ſhe ſtreynith and not Clithith noꝛ Cratchith The x. ſhe mantellith and not ſtretchith whan ſhe puttith heꝛ leges from hiꝛ oon afteꝛ an otheꝛ: and hiꝛ wynges folow after hieꝛ legg𐌔, then ſhe dooth mantill hiꝛ, and whaan ſhe hath mantilled hiꝛ and bꝛyngith booth heꝛ wynges to geider oueꝛ hiꝛ backe, ye ſhall ſay yowre hawke waꝛbellith hiꝛ wynges, and that is oon teꝛme dewe theꝛfore The xi. ye ſhall ſay yowre hawke muteſſith oꝛ mutith and not ſklyſith. The xij. ye ſhall ſay caſt yowre hawke to the peꝛch, and not ſet youre hawke vppon the peꝛch.

Here ſhal ye vnderſtonde foꝛthermore other maner of termys that belong vn to hawkis foꝛ to cōmende them foꝛ diuerſe of theyr pꝛopirteis

Fiꝛſt ye ſhall ſay This is a fayꝛ hawke, and hudge hauke, a longe hawke, a ſhoꝛt thike hawke, ⁊ ſay not this is a grete hawke, alſo ye ſhall ſay this hauke has a laꝛge beke Oꝛ a ſhoꝛtt beke, and call it not bille, an hudge hede oꝛ a ſmall hede fayre ſeſoned, ye ſhall ſay yowre hawke is full gooꝛged and not cropped, and yowre hawke puttithouer and endueth, and yet ſhe dooth booth dyueꝛſely.
