Sir James Bland Burges, M.P. for Helston, the ist baronet, was Under- Secretary for Foreign Affairs 1789-95, when he was appointed Knight-Marshal of H.M.'s Household for life ; he assumed the surname of Lamb, and the arms of Lamb quarterly with those of Burges, by royal license. 1821.
