Frederick Vernon Lockwood, nominated 3rd Nov. 1838, vice William earl Nelson deceased. Ob. 1st July 1851, aged 48.

Arthur Penrhyn Stanley, vice Lockwood, 16th Aug. 1851.

CANONS IN THE SIXTH PREBEND.

John Menys, appointed in the charter of incorporation, 3rd April 1542.

Edmund Cranmer was admitted nth March 1549; he was deprived in 1554.

Robert Collyns was nominated by the Queen and April 1554, and admitted on the 12th of the same month[3].

Alexander Nowell, constituted 14th Feb. 1559[4].

John Pory, 1st May 1564, vice Alexander Nowell resigned[5].

John Bungey, 19th June 1567, vice John Pory resigned[6].

John Hill, 26th July 1567, vice John Bungey resigned[7].

William Whitaker, l0th May 1595[8]. He died the same year.

Hadrian Saravia, 6th Dec. 1595[9]. He resigned in 1602, and died 15th Jan. 1612-13, ætat. 82; he was buried on the 19th of the same month in the cathedral.

Richard Clerke, 8th May 1602[10].

John Abbot, 3rd Feb. 1612-13[11]. He was buried 1st Sept. 1615.

John Sanford. The date of his admission unknown.
