Thomas Cooper, S.T.P., was presented by the Queen

28th April 1567, and instituted by the archbishop on

the 30th of the same month. In 1569 he became dean

of Gloucester, and in 1571 ho was made bishop of

Lincoln 76 .

John Pn us, S.T.P., dean of Chester and master vfBalr liol college, Oxford, was admitted 28th Feb. 1570-1 j ho obtained the deanery of Salisbury 15th March 1571-2, and in 1576 he was made bishop of Ro- chester"".

Tobias Matthew, S.T.P., a caw.,, hen and president of St. John's college Oxford, succeeded in 1576, and re- signed it in 15844 having been made dean of Durham (isi An-. 1583; he became bishop of thai see in 1595, and archbishop of York in 1606.

William James, S.T.P., master of University college, Oxford, succeeded in 1584; he was removed in 1596 to the deanery of Durham, and to the bishopric of Durham in 1 606.

Thomas Ravis, S.T.P.. pn b\ ndary of Westminster, suc- ceeded in 1 596, and in March 1604-5 ne mt made bishop of Gloucester "\

John Kino, S.T.P., archdeacon of Nottingham and pre- herniary of St. PattTs, London, had this dignity con- ferred on him 4th Aug. 1605; and in 1611 he was made bishop of London.

William Goodwyn, S.T.P., installed 1 3th Sept. 1611. He became archdeacon of Middlesex in 1616. Ho died 11th June 1620, tetat. 6^, and was buried in the cathedral " 9 .

Richard Corbet, S.T.P., succeeded 20th June 1620, was installed on the 24th of the same month, and in 1628 he was made bishop of this see 60 .
