ARCHBISHOPS. Ill 1452 William Bothe, bishop of Coventry and Lichfield, was 31 Hen. VI. translated to this see 21st July 1452. He obtained the temporalities 26th Oct.^^ and was enthroned 4th Sept. 1453. He died at Southwell in the beginning of Sept. 146497^ and was there buried. His will, dated 26th Aug. 1464, was proved 24th Sept. 1464, A license to elect an archbishop, vice William Bothe, issued 27th Sept. 1464 ^s. 1465 George Nevill^^, bishop of Exeter, was translated to 5 Edw. IV. York ; while bishop of Exeter he obtained a grant of the custody of the temporalities of the see of York 1 6th Sept. 1464^, and received plenary restitution of them as archbishop 17th June 1465'^. He died 8th June 1 47 6 3, and was buried in York cathedral. On 28th June 1476 his Majesty issued his conge d'elire vice archbishop NevilH. 1476 Lawrence Bothe ^, bishop of Durham, was translated i6Edw.Iv. to York 1st Sept. 1476, and had the temporalities restored to him 8th Oct. following 6, the custody of them however had been granted to him since the i8th of the preceding June 7. He died at Southwell 19th May 1480, where he was buried near to his brother and predecessor William. His will, dated 28th Sept. 1479, was proved nth July 1480^.
