Order of Business.
§ 144

necessary that any society having a permanent existence should arrange in advance the order that will be most suitable for the transaction of its business—to be transacted. In the absence of such special arrangement, or of a constitutional provision, the following will be found suitable for ordinary purposes:

Call to order.

Reading and approval of the minutes.

Reports of standing committees.

Reports of special committees.

Unfinished business.

New business.

Adjournment.

It will be readily seen that the above form may be modified by inserting other orders, or by changing their arrangement in any manner that will best serve the interest of the organization. Since no form that could be given here would be suitable for all cases, each society must judge itself as to the extent of such modification.
