uneasiness as to the existence of the mind, in so far as it is absolutely unknown, or in so far as it is without thoughts or things present to it, is very much out of place. These reflections may, perhaps, have the effect of correcting this prevalent, but misdirected, solicitude. This system, assuredly, opens up a much brighter vista for the futurity of the mind than any which psychology can disclose; and places its imperishable nature on a much surer basis than any which psychology can establish.
