Carrying the baby
boy or girl to be Baptized, have them at the door of the Church resting on the right arm of the Godfather or Godmother, and have them ask the first thing, and say in the Timucuan language:

Cel.What do you come to take to the Holy Church? A man? A woman? Ans. If it is male A man. If it is female A woman.
¶ Cel. What name will it be called?℞. Pedro or Maria.
¶ Cel. What do you request of the Holy Church?℞. I request what is called Faith, the belief in God.
¶ Cel. What will this Faith, the belief in God, give you?℞. It will give me eternal life.
