London. 1824. 4th Am. ed. 8vo. New York. 1835. Comyn's, for a long time, was the best English treatise upon Con- tracts, "and as a purely common law work is entitled to much praise," but is now nearly supplanted by later books upon the same subject. Hoff. Leg. Stu. 385. COMYN, R. B. Treatise on the Law of Landlord and Tenant, to which is added an Appendix of Precedents. 2d ed. corrected. By G. Chilton, Jr. 8vo. London. 1830. P. and Exch. ; to which are added some special Cases in the Court of Chancery, and before the Dele- gates, in the Reigns of King William, Queen Anne, Geo. I. and II. fol. London. 1744. 2d ed. 2 vols. 8vo. 1792, with additional Notes and References to former and later Reports, and other books of authority. By S. Rose. These Reports were taken in French, and left in MS. at the author's death. The first edition appeared in English, and the translation was executed by different persons. Being a posthumous publication it is probably less complete and accurate than its learned author would have rendered it, had it received his final corrections, and I am not aware that the volume has elicited any marked judicial commendation. Its last editor corrected several inaccuracies of the first impression, and added a variety of references and useful notes. . A Digest of the Laws of England. 5 vols. fol. London. 17G2-67. 217
