LEG LEE, THOMAS. A Dictionary of the Practice in Civil Actions in the Courts of King's Bench and Common Pleas; with Prac- tical Directions and Forms, arranged under each Title. 2d ed. 2 vols. 8vo. London. 1825. . Precedents of Declarations in Assumpsit, fully- adapted to most Cases occurring on Promissory Notes, on Bills of Exchange, Inland and Foreign ; and also, on Bankers' Checks, &c. Svo. London. 1812. LEE, R. A Treatise of Captures in War. 2d ed. Svo. London. 1803. The first edition of Lee on Captures, appeared as an original work, but in the second, the author acknowledges it to be in part a translation of Bynkershoek's Quesliones Juris Fublici. It has little merit as a translation, because the author frequently introduces extraneous matter without acknowledgment, and has little value as a law book, because he rarely cites his authorities. LEE, J. The Laws of Shipping and Insurance ; with a copious Appendix, containing the existing Statutes, Custom-house, and Pilots' Regulations, Forms of Deed, and Writs. 2d ed. 12mo. London. 1845. LEE'S REPORTS. See Cases ; Phillimore. LEGAL RECREATIONS ; or, Popular Amusements in the Laws of England. By a Barrister at Law. 8vo. London, n. d. LEGAL OBSERVER ; or, Journal of Jurisprudence. 33 vols. Svo. London. 1831-46. " It contains a neat and correct summary of the decisions in all the Courts; copies or full abstracts of all the important Acts of Parliament, with practical notes and explanations." Tompson's Young Atty. 59, n. LEGAL EXAMINER. 3 vols. Svo. London. 1831-32. LEGAL EXAMINER and LAW CHRONICLE. 4 vols. Svo. London. LEGAL REPORTER. Edited by a Member of the Bar. 2 vols. Svo. Dublin. 1840-41. " The Legal Reporter is a weekly publication, conducted much on the same plan as the Legal Observer. The original articles are generally well written, the Reports of decided Cases bear a good character for accuracy, and, altogether, the work gives a highly favorable notion of the progress of jurisprudence in the sister country." 27 L.
