  1. The red text, rahter faint on the same line as the black one.
  2. The words: Ad neruos ad genua on the same line as: Wið sina.
  3. ms. merurh.
  4. ms. nardran.
  5. ms. afy aflyȝennysse.
  6. ms. neardran.
  7. The following words, from which I can make no sense, here occur in the margin: ad ocles ne oc… combinacionem ignosfan̄ (?).
  8. ms. Wið ȝemanen.
  9. ms. odðer.
  10. excitandum rather guessed than read in the margin.
  11. ms. byþ he byð.
  12. ms. þa.
  13. ms. fif þinði þingumd.
  14. ms. ylpen, the word struck off in red.
  15. ms. De canibus on the same line as sumera.
  16. ms. helpna. Cock. writes hwelpan though V. has hwelpna.
  17. ms. ȝesodena.
  18. ms. on gyft.
  19. The reader may be puzzled, in case he should here refer to Cockayne’s text, by the omission of the beginning of the sentence. It is very similar in V. to what it is in O., and Cockayne’s omission must be due to a mistake.
  20. ms. ȝedeon.
  21. ms. toðreomera.
