  1. A sort of square dais from which the priests delivered their lectures.
  2. A kind of Buddhist priestly garment.
  3. Hanya is the Sanskrit Pradjña, defined by Eitel as the "highest of the six Pâramita (cardinal virtues), intelligence, the principal means of attaining to Nirvâna." The meeting was to hear the reading of the Ninwō Hanya Sutra. Ninwō means "benevolent king."
