  1. Athletes who are taking part in activity that last for more than 30 minutes, should consume a pre-game meal made up of Carbohydrates.

REASONS

  1. Carbohydrates are able to digest quicker than fats or Proteins.
  2. Carbohydrate food stuff is converted as an energy source with the least amount of effort.
  3. Normal blood plasma glucose level can be maintained.
  4. Will increase the stored Carbohydrate in the muscle and liver and therefore allow the athlete to exercise longer.
  5. Most recently, liquid meal is prepared as pre-game meal.
  6. Because of Psychological effects pre-game meal choice must be given to the athletes.

WATER AND MINERAL BALANCE

During prolonged physical exertions, athletes dehydrate too much, therefore they may suffer some heat injury if care is not taken properly.
