IV. Provided always, That tiris Act nor any Thing therein contained extend to any Manors, Lands, Towns Corp*. Tenements or Hereditaments lying and being wit' in any City, Borough or Town Corporate within any rate ' of the faid Countries, wherein the Mayors, Recorders, Chamberlains, Bailiffs, or other Officer or Officers have Authority, aiv! have lawfully ufed, to inrol any Evidences, Deeds or other Writing, within their Precinct or Limits ; any Thing in this Act contained to the contrary notwithftanding. CAP. XXVII. An Act touching Fines to be levied in the County Palatine of Durham.
