  • ing one of the faid Moieties into certain Annuities for the Benefit of the Members, and for fettling there-

  • hundred and twenty-three the whole Capital Stock of the Governor and Company of Merchants of

•* Great Britain trading to the South-Seas and other Parts of America, and for encouraging the Fifhery,

  • commonly called The South-Sea Company, fliould be divided and feparated into two equal Parts or
  • Moieties, and that one Moiety thereof (hould be converted into a Joint Stock, attended with certain

' Annuities payable out of the Funds of the faid Company, as in the faid Act is provided, and (hould

  • from thenceforth be called The Joint Stock of South-Sea Annuities; and that the other Moiety (hould

1 remain in the faid Company as their Capital Stock, attended with the Refidue of the faid Annuities or 4 Funds, payable at the Exchequer, and alfo with the feveral Sums fettled and allowed for Charges or ' Management, and with all other Benefits, Profits of Trade, Privileges and Advantages then belonging

  • to the faid Company, as in and by the faid Act, Relation being had thereto, may appear : And where-

' as in purfuance of feveral fubfequent Acts of Parliament the faid Capital Stock of the faid Company ' hath by Redemption been reduced to fourteen millions fix hundred fifty-one thoufand one hundred ' and three Pounds eight Shillings and one Penny, or thereabouts ; and the faid Joint Stock of South-

  • Sea Annuities hath by Redemption been reduced to fifteen millions fix hundred fifty-one thoufand ninety-

' nine Pounds feventeen Shillings and five Pence, or thereabouts: And whereas it is judged advifeable ' and neceffary, and alfo conducive to the better eftablilhing of publick Credit, to make a further and

  • larger Reduction of the faid Capital Stock of the faid Company, by dividing the fame into Annuities

' and a Trading Stock : ' May it pleafe your Majeity that it may be enacted, and be it enacted by the King's moft Excellent Majeity, by and with the Advice and Confent of the Lords Spiritual and Tem- poral, and Commons, in this preferit Parliament affembled, and by the Authority of the fame, That from After 24 June and after the twenty-fourth Day of June one thoufand feven hundred and thirty-three the whole Capital *73|> th | ™£°£| Stock of the laid South-Sea Company, which doth by Computation amount to fourteen millions (ix hun- tliT South-Sea' dred and fifty-one thoufand and one hundred and three Pounds eight Shillings and one Penny as aforefaid; Company to be and the Shares of the refpective Members and Proprietors of and in the fame, (hail be divided and fepa- dlvl ^, e p^ foui: rated into four equal Parts, and the fame from thenceforth (hall be deemed and adjudged to be divided and equa feparated accordingly. Lieu and full Recompence of all the Dividends, Profits and Advantages which fuch three fourth Parts or three Parts in four of the faid Capital Stock are now intitled to (that is to fay) with Annuities after the Rate of four at 4I. percent. Pounds per Centum per Annum, until Redemption thereof by Parliament, according to the Purport and true Meaning of this Act, and that the fame three fourth Parts or three Parts in four fo converted into fuch Joint Stock (hall from thenceforth be called The new Joint Stock of South-Sea Annuities; and that S .2 the
