And whereas in many Ports of the Kingdom of Great Britain, from which Britiflj or Irijh Linens ' may be exported, there may not be fo much Money collected and received by the additional Duty here- ' by granted, as may be fufficient to pay the Bounty to be allowed by this Act, whereby the Exporters 4 or fuch Ports cannot have the Benefit of the laid Bounty;' For Remedy thereof, be it enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That if any of the Collectors of the Cuftoms in any of the Outports in South Britain, cdle&or not or of any Port in North Britain, fhall not have fufficient Money in his Hands, arifing by the faid addi- having fufficient tional Duty, to fatisfy and pay fuch Bounty which fhall be due to any Exporter or Exporters of Britijl) Money in his or Irifli Linens as aforefaid ; that then fuch Collector of any of the faid Out-Ports in SouthBritain, fhall ^££® w ' (if required) give to the Perfon intitled to fuch Bounty a Certificate without Fee or Reward, under his rhnd, attefted by the Comptroller, of what is due to fuch Perfon for fuch Britifli or Irifli Linen lo ex- ported from any fuch Port in South Britain, certifying to the Commiffioners of his Majefty's CuftoTis at London, that he hath not Money in his Hands arifmg from the Duties granted by this Act, fufficient to pay the fame ; and fuch Collector of any Port in North Britain fhall likewife (if required) give to the Per- The fame to b«  lbn demanding fuch Sum or Sums of Money, lawfully authorized, without tee or Rewarn, a Certificate, done . in North under his Hand, to the Commiffioners of his Majefty's Cuftoms at Edinburgh, of what is due to fuch Per- 1 " itam - fon for the Bounty of the BritiJI) Linens exported from any fuch Port in Nrth Britain, and upon produ- cing fuch Certificate, and the Debenture of the Linens exported, to the Commiffioners there, they are hereby required, in cafe there be any Money in the Hands of the Receiver general, or Cafhier of the Cu- ftoms there, arifing by the Duties granted by this Aft, to pay, or caufe to be paid, to the Perfon pro- ducing fuch Certificate and Debenture, being authorized as aforefaid, the Sum or Sums of Money fo cer- tified ; and if they have not fufficient to pay fuch Sum or Sums of Money, they fhall forthwith, without Fee or Reward, give fuch Exporter a Certificate certifying the fame to the Commiffioners of his Majefty's Cuftoms at London ; which refpective Certificates being affixed to the Debentures for the Bounty of the faid Linens fo exported, and being produced to the faid Commiffioners of his Majefty's Cuftoms at London, they the faid Commiffioners are hereby authorized and required, on Demand by the Perfon authorized as aforefaid, that fhall bring the fame, to caufe the Monies thereby due to be paid by the Receiver general, or Cafhier of the Cuftoms, without Fee or Reward, out of fuch Monies as fhall be in his Hands, arifing out of the Duties hereby granted for the Payment of the faid Bounty ; and in cafe fuch Receiver or Cafhier fhall not have Money in his Hands fufficient for paying the whole of fuch Sum or Sums of Money fo certified as aforefaid, he is hereby authorized and required to pay the fame, fo far as the Money in his Hands will then go, and the Remainder from time to time, as the Money arifing by the Duties granted by virtue of this Act fhall be by him received ; and he is alfo hereby required to obferve a due Courfe of paying fuch Debentures in the Order of Time which they fhall be produced or prefented to the Commif- fioners of the Cuftoms, who fhall caufe fuch Debentures to be numbered progreffively, as they fhall bs prefented to them, or to the Officer or Officers appointed by them to receive the fame. X. And be it further ena&ed by the Authority aforefaid, That all and every Officer and Officers, who fhall be concerned in collecting, levying, and accounting for the Duties arifing by this Act, fhall keep a feparate and diftinct Account thereof; and all and every fuch Sum or Sums of Money, as fhall not be Money received paid by the refpective Collectors who receive the fame, to fuch Perfon or Perfons as fhall, upon the Ex- by the Duties, portation of Britijh or Irijb Linen be intitled thereto, purfuant to the Directions of this Act, fhall forth- ftall be kept to with be remitted and paid to the Receiver general, and Cafhier of his Majefty's Cuftoms, in whole Hands F a >' Boulules > all fuch Sums fhall remain, and be applied only to the Payment of the Bounty granted by this Act, un- lefs it fhall appear, that more Money doth arife by the Duties hereby granted, than fhall be fufficient to anfwer and discharge the Bounties payable by this Act ; in which Cafe the Lord High Treafurer, or Lords and the Overplus Commiffioners of his Majefty's Treafury for the Time being, may and fhall direct the fame from time to to be add.-d to time to be paid into his Majefty's Exchequer, towards the Sinking Fund, by the Title of Duty on Cambricks ^ e S' ukm S by this Act. XI.
