C. 12. 659 out of the fcveral Rates and Duties by this Act appropriated, as they fhall think juft and reafonablc, receiving, paying and accounting for the fcveral and respective Annuities, payabje in refpect thereol j and alfo for the Service, Pains and Trouble of the Accomptant General of the laid Governor and Go for performing the Duty and Trull incumbent on him by this Ait ; all which Allowances hereby inn Officer! and Al- powered to be made as aforcfaid, in refpect to the Service, Pains and Labour of any Oflicer or Officers of low»i the faid Governor and Company, fhall be for the Ufe and Benefit of the faid Governor and Company, Difpo&loftbe and at their Difpofal only; any thing herein contained to the contrary notwithstanding. And for the greater Encouragement of Perfons to become Contributors to the Lottery herein Encouragement before mentioned ; Be it further enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That all and every the Perfon and for Contributors Perfons who fhall advance and pay unto fuch Receiver or Receivers, to be appointed as aforefaid, at or £" ^ 1 _ ottcry before the refpective Days and Times, and in the refpective Proportions herein before directed, the prin- cipal Sum of one hundred Pounds for the Purchafe often Tickets in the faid Littery, fhall, for or in re- fpect of the faid Principal Sum of one hundred Pounds fo to be advanced and paid, be intitled to have and receive, at the Receipt of his Majefty's Exchequer, during his, her or their own Life, or the Life of fome £.f nui f ty i° r other Perfon to be nominated by him, her or them, or by his, her, or their Affigns, an Annuity of nine Pounds, being computed after the Rate of eighteen Shillings per Annum for each Ticket, and fo in Pro- befides4l. per portion for any greater Number of Tickets to be contributed for by any fuch Perfon or Perfons (over and Cent - P er Ann «  above the Annuity of four Pounds per Centum per Annum, before by this Act made payable at the Bank of England to fuch Contributor) which faid refpective Annuity or Annuities to be paid at the Exchequer as aforefaid, fhall commence from the Feaft of the Nativity of Saint John the Baptift, which fhall be in the Year of our Lord one thoufand feven hundred and forty-fix, and be paid and payable to fuch Contributor or Contributors, or his, her, or their Aflign or Affigns, at the Times, and in the Manner herein after mentioned ; and the faid Receiver or Receivers is and are hereby directed and required, as foon as he or A Certificated they fhall have received from any fuch Contributor or Contributors, one Moiety of the feveral Sums by tributc^s -° them refpedtively intended to be advanced, for the Purchafe of ten Tickets or more, in the faid Lottery as aforefaid, forthwith to give fuch Contributor or Contributors, or his, her or their Affigns, a Certifi- cate or Certificates, figned by him or them (directed to the Auditor of the Receipt of his Majefry's Ex- chequer) to be printed or written upon cheque Paper, and cut out indentwife through fome Flourifh or Device, to be contrived by the faid Receiver or Receivers, containing the Names, Surnames, Places of Abode, and other Additions of fuch Contributor or Contributors, or his, her, or their Affigns, toge- ther with the Annuity payable to them in refpect of the principal Sums advanced by them for the Pur- chafe of fuch Tickets, computed after the Rate of eighteen Shillings per Annum for each Ticket, in Man- ner herein before mentioned (which faid Certificate or Certificates fhall be affignable, by Indorfement a m g nable before thereupon to be made, and witnefTed by two Perfons, at any Time or Times before the twentieth Day of Dec. 20, 1746. December one thoufand feven hundred and forty-fix) and in order to prevent the Auditor of the faid Re- ceipt from being impofed upon by any counterfeit or forged Certificate or Certificates, the faid Receiver Counterpart of or Receivers fhall, and they are hereby directed and required to tranfmit to the Auditor of the Receipt in certificates to be the faid Exchequer (as foon as the faid whole Sum of five hundred thoufand Pounds, by this Act intended returned to the to be raifed by way of a Lottery, fhall be advanced and paid to him or them) the Counterpart of the Exchequer. Cheques of all the Certificates given by him or them to fuch Contributors as aforefaid ; upon which faid Counterparts of the faid Cheques fhall be exprefTed the Number of each Certificate, the Contributor's Name, and the Annuity contained therein. LXV.
