C. 16. 17 thoufanc) four hundred forty-fix Pounds and three Pence, towards making good the Deficiency of the Grants for the Year one thoufand fever) hundred and twenty-nine; and any Sum or Sums of Money, not exceeding fixty-three thoufand three hundred forty-four Pounds fixtecn Shillings and live Pence Far- thing, to make good the Deficiency of the Fund commonly called The General Fund, for railing feven hundred twenty-four thoufand eight hundred forty-nine Pounds fix Shillings and ten Pence and one fifth Part of a Penny, for the Year en Jed at Michaelmas one thoufand feven hundred and twenty-nine ; and any Sum or Sums of Money, not exceeding two thoufand five hundred Pounds, for the Purchafe of the Intereft of Dougall Cuthbert Efquire, or any Perfon or Perfons claiming under him in a revcrfionary Grant to him during his Life, in the Office of Warden of the Fleet Prifon, after the Deceafe of Thomas BambrUge Efquire ; and any Sum or Sums of Money, not exceeding ten thoufand Pounds, towards the Maintenance of the Brltljh Forts and Settlements belonging to the Royal African Company of England^ on the Coaft of Africa; and any Sum or Sums of Money, not exceeding one thoufand five hundred Pounds, upon Account of one Year's Peniions, from the twenty-fifth Day of December one thoufand feven hundred and twenty-nine, to be allowed to the Widows of fuch half-pay Officers of the Land Forces, as ferved and were married before the twenty-fifth Day of December one thoufand feven hundred and fixteen ; which laid Sum of one thoufand five hundred Pounds (hall be iffued to fuch Perfon or Per- fons, as his Majefty (hall, by Warrant or Warrants under his Royal Sign Manual, direct or appoint to receive the fame, to be by him or them paid over to fuch Widows of ha'f-pay Officers or their Affigns, according to fuch Kftablilhments, Lilts or other Directions, and with and lubject to fuch Conditions, Qualifications, Deductions or other Allowances for the fame, as his Majefty by fuch or the like Warrant or Warrants (hall be gracioufly pleafed, from Time to Time, to direct: or appoint. XVI. And be it enacted, That the faid Aids or Supplies, provided as aforefaid, fhall not be ifTued or Not to be appB- applied to any Ufe, Intent or Purpofe whatfoever, other than the Ufes and Purpofes before mention- «l toanyoitwr ed, or for the feveral Deficiencies or other Payments, directed to be fatisfied thereout, by any parti- cular Claufe or Claufes for that Purpofe contained in any other Act or Aits of this prefent Seifion of Parliament. XVII. And as to the faid Sum of fixty-four thou r and Pounds, by this Act appropriated on Account p.utestobeob- of Half-pay as aforefaid ; it is hereby enacted and declared by the Authority aforefaid, That the Rules ferved in Appli- herein after prefcribed fhall be duly obferved in the Application thereof; that is to fay, that no Perfon Hdf^payn fhall have or receive any Part of the fame, who was a Minor and under the Age of lixteen Years, at the Time when the Regiment, Troop or Company, in which he ferved, was reduced; that no Perfon (hall have or receive any Part of the fame, except fuch Perfons who did actual Service in fome Regiment, Troop or Company ; that no Perfon having any other Place or Imployment of Profit, Civil or Military, under his Majefty, fhall have or receive any Part of the faid Half-pay ; that no Chaplain of any Gari- fon or Regiment, who has any Ecclefiaftical Benefice in Great Britain or Ireland, fhall have or receive any of the faid Half-pay ; that no Perfon fhall have or receive any Part of the fame, who hath reiigned his Commiffion, and has had no Commiflion lince ; that no Part of the fame fhall be allowed to any Perfon by virtue of any Warrant or Appointment, except to fuch Perfons who would have been other- wife intitled to the fame as reduced Officers ; and that no Part of the fame fhall be allowed to any of the Officers of the live Regiments of Dragoons, and eight Regiments of Foot lately dilbanded in Ire- laud., except to fuch as were lately taken off the Eftablilhment of Half-pay in Great Britain. ' XVIII. And whereas by an Act of Parliament made in the fecond Year of his Majefty's Reign, 2 Ceo>s, o, it. ' intituled, An Ail to. afcertain the Cujlom payable for Corn and Grain imported ; for better afcertalning the ' Price and Quantity of Corn and Grain, for ■which a Bounty is payable upon Exportation ; for appropriating

  • the Supplies granted in this Seffion of Parliament ; and for giving further Time to Clerks and Apprentices

' to pay Duties omitted to be paid for their Indentures and Contracts, feveral Supplies which had been ' granted to His Majefty, as is therein mentioned, were appropriated to feveral Ufes and Purpofes ' therein expreffed, amongft which any Sum or Sums of Money, not exceeding fifty-feven thoufand ' Pounds, was appropriated to be paid to the reduced Officers of his Majefty's Land Forces and Ma- ' rines ; fubject neverthelefs to fuch Rules to be obferved in the Application of the (aid Half-pay, as ' in and by the aforefaid Act were prefcribed in that Behalf:' Now it is hereby provided, enacted and Overplus of the declared, by the Authority af refaid, That fo much of the faid Sum of fifty-feven thoufand Pounds as Haif-p»yMon«y is or fhall be more than fufficient to fatisfy the (aid reduced Officers, according to the faid Rules by ££ ffinsofclf w the faid Acts prefcribed to be obferved in the Application thereof, or any Part of fuch Overplus, (hall the compass or may be difpofed of to fuch Officers who are maimed or loft their Limbs in the late Wars, or fuch onareUO. others as by reafon of their long Service or otherwife, his Majefty (hall judge to be proper objects of Chanty, or to the Widows or Children of fuch Officers, according to fuch Warrant or Warrants under his Majefty's Royal Sign Manual, as (hall be figned in that behalf; any thing in this Act, or the faid former Act, to the contrary notwithftanding. ' XIX. And whereas Richard IVollajlon Efquire, Receiver General of the Taxes for the County of ' Salop, is in Arrear upon his Account of the Sixth two Shilling Aid, one thoufand feven hundred
