- When destiny is written on the skull, can you avert it by artifice?
- Writing on the head is another form of expression for destiny or fate, which is supposed to be written on the skull of every individual born into the world. Hence the Sanscrit proverb, Kapála, Kapála, Kapála múla. "The skull, the skull, the skull is the root of all." Kapála in Sanscrit means skull. The mundane history of all is determined by the actions of a former state of existence. This is one of the most prevalent doctrines of the Hindus. A man eats the fruit of his doings, not in our sense as the same individuated being, but as the same responsible agent who has previously been on the stage.
