uo fear is. Se does Thy Word disclose to us the atate of the wicked, and theese solemn truths remind us that by continuing in evil we must continue in misery and suffering.

Help us, then. O Lord, we beseech Theo, to contend against our corruptions. May this day see us resolutely oppose whatsoever is evil, and urge us onward in the practice of that which is good. Aa Thou knowest what is best for man, all the days of his vain life which he spendeth as a shadow, so Thou only canst safoly conduct him through all the trials to which he is exposed. That we may be earnest in the prosecution of our labours. Thou permittest us to know in part, and to see the inture aa through a glass darkly; but that we may at all times find assistance in every time of need. Thou hast promised Thou wilt be with us "even unte death." '" Lord, we believe; help Thou our unbelief." Amen, zs

TUESDAY EVENING.

GRACIOUS and merciful Redeemer, infinite in wisdom as in goodness, again we acknowledge Thy snperintending providence: Thy ways are not as our ways, nor Thy thoughts as our thoughts; for as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are Thy ways than our ways, and Thy thoughts than our thoughts.

In the morning we implore Thy blessing and guidances on our duties. In the evening we draw near to Thee and invoke Thy protection, that during the night watches we may rest in peace and safety. We at all times need Thy watchful eye to guard us from the assaults of our spiritual enemies; and as all our blessings flow from Thee, so unto Thee we commend the care of our souls. Amen.

Our Father, etc.

WEDNESDAY MORNING.

ETERNAL and omnipotent Creator, we desire to approach Thee this morning. Thou hast renewed our existence, thou hast invigorated our bodies, and with health and strength Thou hast endowed us, and again prepared us for our mutual duties. Glory be to Thy holy name, O Lord.

The renewal of Thy mercies calls for a renewal of our love and gratitude. When we look at the wonders of Thy creative hands, when we behold the immense worlds that revolve in space, and the countless suns which are the sources of heat and light to them, we are lost in wonder and admiration at the Omnipotent power displayed in
