year 1621 appears to be the first instance of a Scotch Peer attting in the BngUsh House of Onminons, of which such sittings there seem to be, in all, ten cases, tho' ooufinerl to but four families. These are those of the 1st, 2d, 4th and 6th Viscounto Falkland, from "1621 to 1694; of the 2d, 8d, 4th and 5ih Lords Fairfax of Cameron, from 1640 to 1707 ; of the Lord Cramond, from 1660 to 1674, and of the Earl of Aneram from 1660 to 1687. This is exclusiTe of four Scotch Peers, who, during the Commonwealth, sat in the lower House as members for Scotch constituencies, viz,, the Earl of Linlithgow, as M.P. for Perth, 1654 ; the Kari of Tweeddale, as M.P. for East Lothian, 1666-69; Loid Cochrane of Dundonald (so cr. 1647), as M.P. for Ayr, 1666 ; and the Marquess of Argyll, as M.P. for Aberdeen, 1659.
