He m. 10 May 1757, at Chislehurst, Kent, Albinia, 1st da. and coheir of Lord Vere Bertie (a, of Robert, 1st Di ke ok Ancaster) by Ann Casey, illegit. da. of Sir Cecil Wiiay, Barb He d. 14 Oct. 1804, aged 75, and was bur. at Nocton, co. Lincoln. His widow d. 11 March 1S10, in her 7Sth year at Nocton. Her will pr. July 1818. XV. J f . Robert (Hobabt), Earl of Buckinghamshire, 2d hut 1st surv. s. and h., b. 6 May 17G0 ; ed. at Wcstra. [E.] for Hramher, 1788-90 ; for Lincoln, 1790-90 ; Ch. Sec. to tbe Lord Lieut. [L], 17S9-93 ; P.C. [I.], 17S9 ; P.O. 1793 ; Governor ok Madras, 1793-97. On 30 Nov. 179S lie was sum. to the House of Feers v.p. in his Father's Barony, as Loud Hobart of BUCKLING. Sec. of State for War, 1S01-04 ; Chancellor of theDuchy of Lancaster, Jany. to July 1S05, and May to June, 1812. Joint. Post- master Gen. 1S0G-7 ; Col. "Queen's Royal " Reg. of Volunteers, 1S03. He m. firstly 4 Jany, 1792, Margaretta, widow of Thomas Adderley, of Imiishannon, co. Cork, da. and coheir of Edmund BoiTBKB, of Orrey. She d. 9 Aug. 1790 and was bur. at Fort St. George, East India. He m. secondly, 1 June 1799, at Lambeth Palace, Surrey, Eleanor Agnes, da. of William (Kdf.n), 1st Baron Auckland, by Eleanor, da. of Sir Gilbert Elliott, Bart., of Minto. He d. s.p.rn. 4 Feb. 1816, aged 55, and was bm. at Nocton afsd, M.I. His widow, who was b. 9 July 1777, d. s.p. 15 Oct., 1851. Will pr. Nov. 1851. XVI. 5. George Robert (Hobart, afterwards Hampden), Haul of Buckinghamshire, &c., nephew and h. male, being s. and h. 1816. of Hon. George Vere Hobart, sometime Lieut. Gov. of Grenada, by his 1st wife. Jaue, da, of Horace Catanko, of Leeds, co. York, which George was 2d s. of the 3d Earl. He was b. I May 1789, and ed. at West.ro. School ; M.P. for St. Michael's, 1812- 13. On 5 Oct. 1S24 [having sue. to the estates of the Hampden family at Great Hampden, &c,, Bucks,( b ) by the death (•! Henrietta, his 1st da. and coheir (by his 1st wife), who d. 14 July 1S0-5, at, for her second husband William Kerr, sti/kd Earl of Ancrum, afterwards (IS 15) Gth Marquess of Lothian [S.] Into this family Bliekling Hall and the Norfolk estates (some S000 acres) long owned by the Hobart family, appear to have passed. () This was under the will of John Hampden, of Great Hampden, Bucks, who d. unm. 4 Feb. 1754, aged 58, and who devised his estates to the Hon. Robert Trevor, afterwards 4th Baron Trevor aud 1st Viscount Hampden, descended from Ruth, da. of his ancestor, John Hampden (called the "Patriot ") with rem., in default of her issue male, to the Hobart family who descended from Mary, Gth da. of thu suid John Hamp- den. Tin's Mary m. about 1055, Sir John Hobart, Bart., aud was mother of Sit Henry Hobart, Bart., the Father of John, 1st Earl of Buckinghamshire.
