Frederik WiLLEM (van Reede), Earl OF Athlone, &'c., [I.], s. and h., b. 22 Oct. 1766, at Utrecht. He is said to have been a Capt. in the British Army in 1795. He w., istly, in Mar. 1789, at Utrecht, Cornelia Adriaana, da. of Willem Munter, Councillor and Echevin of Amsterdam, by Wendela Eleanora ten Hove, Lady of Doom, den Bosch, and Sleeburg. She, who was b. 30 Jan. 1770, at Amsterdam, was divorced (") 5 July 1794. He m.^ 2ndly, 11 Nov. 1 800, (spec, lie.) at Windlestone, co. Durham, Maria, 2nd da. of Sir John Eden, 4th Bart., of West Auckland, by his 2nd wife, Dorothea, da. and h. of Peter Johnson. He d. s.p., insane, at Croom's Hill, Greenwich, of water on the brain, 5, and was bur. 13 Dec. 18 10, at Greenwich. Admon. Mar. 18 1 1. His widow w., 30 Oct. 1821, at St. James's, Westm. (as his 2nd wife). Vice Admiral Sir William Johnstone Hope, G.C.B., who d. 2 May 1 83 1, aged 64. She d. s.p., 5 Mar 1851, aged 81, in South Str., Grosvenor Sq. Will pr. Mar. 1851. VII. 1 8 10. 7. Northampton, and da. of John Williams Hope, of Amsterdam (formerly John Williams), by Ann, da. of John Goddard, of Rotterdam, and of Woodford Hall, Essex.
