Those who would test the efficacy of a faith by its regenerating effect on depraved persons, pause here and note that every faith has that undercurrent of truth which, if found oat and followed, will surely carry one to the haven of bliss. Besides Sankeerthan, Chaitanya introduced another method of attracting the people. This was Jattra, a kind of theatrical performance in which the sage himself would take a prominent part and by his rousing words animate the audience into religious zeal.
