Those who make an exact science of this art, are thus enabled to better determine the effect of a given combination of cards under certain planets, by knowing exactly where those planets are at the time. But our aim is to make this book useful to others besides those versed in astrological and astronomical science; so we say that all these accessories, although useful to the expert, can be dispensed with by the amateur astral card reader.

PILING THE EMBLEMS.

10th. When the 7 planetary ruling cards are drawn and recorded by C, as heretofore directed, he must take them from the sun, or center, and place them upon the pile of cards in the house or division of the Zodiac containing his birth month. He then lifts that entire pile and places it upon another, where he feels impressed to place it. He continues this until all the cards are in one pile (always faces down) which he places upon the sun.

11th. B now holds the time and directs to cut the book at the exact beginning of a minute and it makes no difference what minute of the hour it is, except that if the first cutting was on an even minute of time by the time piece used, this second cutting must be on an even minute by the same time piece. If the watch keeps correct seconds and minutes it makes no difference whether it is minutes or hours out of the way on standard or solar time. If the first cut, that is the cut in preparing
