Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Pemigewasset United States of America in Congress assembled, River Study Act of 1989. SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. If? TISO 1271 „fg This Act may be cited as the "Pemigewasset River Study Act of 1989". SEC. 2. STUDY RIVER DESIGNATION. Section 5(a) of the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act (16 U.S.C. 1276(a)) as amended, is further amended by adding the following new paragraph at the end thereof: "(107) PEMIGEWASSET, NEW HAMPSHIRE.— The segments from Profile Lake downstream to the southern boundary of the Franconia Notch State Park and from the northern Thornton town-line downstream to the backwater of the Ayers Island Dam; by the Secretary of the Interior,". SEC. 3. STUDY AND REPORT. Section 5(b) of the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act (16 U.S.C. 1276(b)), as amended, is further amended by adding the following new paragraph: "(9) The study of the Pemigewasset River, New Hampshire, shall be completed and the report thereon submitted not later than three years after the date of enactment of this paragraph.". SEC. 4. AUTHORIZATION OF APPROPRIATIONS. There are authorized to be appropriated such sums as may be necessary to carry out the purposes of this Act. Approved August 10, 1990.
