Be it enacted by the Senate and House $fRe esentatives 0 f the United States of America in O mss assembled, That the sums of money pr§`·;$,*}S°¤°*°¤¤¤PP’°· herein provided for be, ahydgthe same are hereby, approdpriated, out of ` any moneys in the Treasury not otherwise appropriate , to be available until expended, namely: FORTIFICATIONS AND OTHER wonxs or DEFENSE. F°m°°¤’i°¤¤·°“’· For construction of gun batteries, one million six hundred and G“¤ b**“°“°S- fifteen thousand dollars. i . For. urchase and installation of search lights for the` defenses of Y§1$,Q’,§*;r,§i,gh'~‘*· N"' New Yldrk Harbor, one hundred and fifty thousand dollars. ` - For installation of range and position finders, one hundred and fifty R°¤g°· €*°·· '*¤d°”· thousand dollars. For the procurement of land, or right pertaining thereto, needed S“”~ for the site, location, construction, or prosecution of works for fortifications and coast defenses, two hundred thousand dollars. For the protection, preservation, and repair of fortifications for R°P“i”· which there may be no special· appropriation available, one hundred thousand dollars. For reconstruction and repair of the fortifications to protect the "G“*"°“°“· harbor of Galveston, Texas, and for each and every purpose necessary in connection therewith, nine hundred and ninety-two thousand dollars. For preparation of plans for fortifications, five thousand dollars. Pim- For too s, electrica and engine supplies, to be furnished by the T¤<>1¤·¤¢¤- Engineer Department, for use of the troops for maintaining and operating electric light and pOWB1' plants in gun and mortar batteries, twenty-five thousand dollars. _ _ For construction of sea walls and embankments, one hundred thou- S°‘* W°“¤· sand dollars.
