CHAP. 526 .-An Act To authorize the Postmaster General to hire vehicles from village delivery carriers . Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States o f America in Congress assembled, That the Act of February 20, 1929, entitled "An Act to authorize the Postmaster General to hire vehicles from letter carriers for use in service " (Forty-fifth Statutes, page 1252; United States Code, Supplement III, title 39, section 52), is hereby amended to read as follows "Provided, That beginning with the fiscal year 1928, and there- after, t he Postmas ter Genera l may hire vehicles from lette r carriers for use in the city delivery and collection service, and in the village delivery and collection service, either under an allowance or on a contract basis." Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Railwa y Mail sera- i ce.

United States o f America in Congress assembled, That the Act of a enld ed37, p. 556, August 24, 1912 (ch. 389, par. 7, 37 Stat. 556; U. S. C., title 39, sec. U. S. C.,p. 1273. 631), making appropriations for the Post Office Department for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1913, be amended to read as follows : Place of residence of "All clerks appointed to the Railway Mail Service and to perform clerks of . duty on railway post of fices shall reside at some point on the route, or at som e point co nvenient th ereto in t he discret ion of the General Super inten dent of the Rail way M ail S ervice, to which they are assigned : Provided, That railway postal clerks appointed prior to February 28, 1895, and now performing such duty shall not be r equir ed to chan ge th eir re siden ce ex cept when t ransf erred to t mother line."
