Washington will be celebrated in the District of Columbia, and for vided . the purpose of preparing, sponsoring, and encouraging suitable programs, entertainments, and demonstrations Cloyd H. Cowles, Harrison H . Dodge, Robert V . Fleming, Isaac Gans, Edwin C . Graham, Gilbert H . Gros- venor, John Hays Hammond, George C . Havenner, J . Leo Kolb, David Lawr ence, Charles Moore, George Richards, A . K . S hipe, Ernest N . Smith, Edgar C . Snyder, Mrs . Virginia White Speel, Anton Stephan, Merle Thorpe, Joseph P . Wilson are hereby created a body corporate and politic to be known as the District of Columbia Commission, George Washington Bicentennial, and within the limits hereinafter pre- d A utho rity orc orp ora- corpora- scribed subject to the supervision of the Commissioners of the Dis- trict of Columbia or subject to the supervision of the Director of Public Buildings and Public P arks, as the case may be, the said corporation is hereby authorized- (a) To purchase, acquire by lease, or construct such structures, say A pl atf or ms, f neces- platorms, and stands for the conduct of the ~rograms, entertain- ments, and demonstrations as may be deemed necessary by said cor pora tion . (b) To manufacture, purchase, or otherwise acquire such para- do le y, etc. sters, sta - phe rnal ia, flags , po sters , st ation ery, bad ges, prog rams and othe r pr inted matter , and light ing fa ciliti es as may b e deem ed nec essary by the corporation for the purposes of said celebration .
