MARCH 26, 1934 . the f ield w ork of the D epartm ent of Agricu lture outsid e the Distri ct of Columbia : Provided, That such vehicles shall be used only for official service outside the District of Columbia, but this shall not prevent the continued use for official service of motor trucks in the District of Columbia : Pr ovi ded further, That the limitation on expenditures for purchase of passenger-carrying vehicles in the field serv ice shall be i nter chang eable betw een the v ariou s bu reaus and offices of the department, to such extent as the exigencies of the serv- ice may require : Provided further, That appropriations contained in this Act shall be available for the maintenance, operation, and repair of motor-propelled and horse-drawn passenger-carrying vehicles Provided further, That the Secretary of Agriculture may exchange motor-propelled and horse-drawn vehicles, tractors, road equipment, and bo ats, and parts, ac cessories , tires, or equipm ent there of, in wh ole or in part payment for vehicles, tractors, road equipment, or boats, or parts, accessories, tires, or equipment of such vehicles, tractors, road equipment, or boats purchased by him . To enable the Secretary of Agriculture to make investigation not otherwise provided for of the causes of soil erosion and the possi- bility of increasing the absorption of rainfall by the soil in the United States, and to devise means to be employed in the preserva- tion of soil, the prevention or control of destructive erosion and the conservation of rainfall by terracing or other means, independ- ently or in cooperation with other branc hes of the Government, State agencies, counties, farm organizations, associations of business men, or individuals, including necessary expenses, $168,326, of which amount not to exceed $11,280 may be expended for personal services in the District of Columbia. INTERNATI ONAL PRO DUCTION C ONTROL C OMMITTEES During the fiscal year 1935 the Secretary of Agriculture may expend not to exceed $10,000, from the funds available for carrying into effect the Agricultural Adjustment Act approved May 12, 1933 (Public, Numbered 10, Seventy-third Congress), the share of the United States as a member of the International Wheat Advisory Committee or like events or bodies concerned with the reduction of agricultural surpluses or other objectives of the Agricultural Adjust- ment Act, together with traveling and all other necessary expenses relating thereto . GRASSHOPPER CONTROL, BUREAU OF ENTOMOLOGY For the application of such methods of control of grasshoppers as, in the judgment of the Secretary of Agriculture, may be neces- sary, in cooperation with such authorities of the States concerned, organiz ations , or i ndivid uals a s he m ay deem essen tial t o acco mplish such purposes, including the employment of persons and means in the District of Columbia and elsewhere, printing and binding, rent outside of the District of Columbia, and for other expenses, $2,354,893, to be available during the fiscal years 1934 and 1935, and to be immediately available, of which amount not to exceed $7,500 may be expended for personal services in the District of Columbia : Provid ed, That this appropriation shall be used for expendi- tu res of gener al adm inistr ation and su pervisi on, pu rchase and t rans- portation of poisoned bait, or materials for its manufacture, and such other expenses as in the discretion of the Secretary of Agri- culture may be deemed necessary and that the cooperating State shall
